ELYSEUM’s Spring Writers Workshop Series.
FUROR SCRIBINDI: “the Rage of Writing”
Commemorating and inspired by
the noble life and work of Octavia Butler,
ELYSEUM starts this spring series off
focusing on her methods and work philosophy.
Facilitated by award winning writer and educator
Russell Reza-Khaliq Gonzaga
and featuring extraordinary guest facilitators,
the inspirational ELYSEUM Writers Workshop
is a wonderful chance to super-charge your creativity,
enhance your skills,
finish that manuscript
(or get one started!)
and connect with other writers
who are serious about their craft.
Our workshops start with stimulating writing exercises
that are geared toward
sharpening your writing and observation skills.
Then, we help one another by reading
and giving positive feedback on our works.
We have found a home at the wonderful
Marsh Cafe (next to the Marsh Theater).
Meetings take place weekly.
You don't have to attend every single workshop
but we do have a private list serve
where we read and work on our writing.
While ELYSEUM is rooted in Erotica
This writers workshop is open
to writers of ALL genres and forms.
Free for a first session.
$10 per single session.
$35 for a month*
$90 for a full 3 month series*.
*includes access to ELYEUM’s
private online bulletin board.
(Work/trade/barter is negotiable)

“Take classes and go to writer’s workshops. Writing is communication. You need other people to let you know whether you’re communicating what you think you are and whether you’re doing it in ways that are not only accessible and entertaining, but as compelling as you can make them. In other words, you need to know you’re telling a good story.”
-From “Furor Scribindi”
by Octavia E. Butler
(6-22-47 — 2-24-06)
Recipient of the Hugo, Nebula
and the MacArthur Foundation Awards.
