Listening to the whispering of prayers.
Cathedral full of small lip movements
and deeply breathing requests for forgiveness
requests for kindness/mercy/strength/knowledge/understanding
wisdom/wisdom/wisdom
acceptance
The winds outside cannot carry the prayers.
Stone solid cathedral holding in
the feathering light holy pleas.
The winds outside whip/wait/wanting
but not a single word
slips out.

Brilliantly put ! I couldn't agree more as well...Why on earth would anyone need to go into a huge dark place to perceive the divine nature of our existence ?

    "Stone solid cathedral holding in

Wow - I was struck by how tactile this passage is, and how it seems fitting to describe also individual people. How we sometimes make ourselves hard on the outside, while our passions flutter within us.

    thank you.

Nice. Evokes for me some shredded confetti swirling in the nave of a cathedral. The cannon chopped into smithereens...
